Editing game lists

Hi Again, still using this awesome piece of software with very few problems.

But there are two small things bothering me at the moment.

The first being the edit list window.
When I click edit list the window opens up tiny and I have to resize it every time, I know first world problems, but I was wondering if you would know a fix for this in some code file somewhere?
So I can possibly set my own custom window size.

The second problem.
Is there any way to manually edit lists with other editors?
I've tried following the formatting and syntax of the list files manually but I'm guessing there is some unreadable stuff I can't see in these editors messing it up.

Something that relates to this is I've actually downloaded tons of arcade games and added the rom names and game names into a spreadsheet because the emulator is on a different computer.
I'd love to know if there was a way of importing this information without having to retype it all.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks for your time.

Had a look at this morning.

Edit list window
in your wahcade.ini file add after line 6 or so:
Code: Select all
list_edit_window_size                   1280x800

edit win_list.py after line 91 add:
Code: Select all
        #get ini files
        self.wahcade_ini = MameWahIni(os.path.join(self.config_dir, 'wahcade.ini'))
        #window size
        self.do_events()
        w, h = self.wahcade_ini.get('list_edit_window_size', 'default', '400x400').split('x')
        self.winList.resize(width=int(w), height=int(h))

You can now set a constant size via wahcade.ini, i'll commit this change later on.

Manually editing lists
Have a look at wahcade/doc/file_formats/gamelist_format.txt this is what i used to write gamelist convertors for http://www.mameau.com/listgen/
