Hi there,
Since what version is wahcade ready for Mame 0.162? I mean since MESS is integrated now…
I checked https://code.launchpad.net/~waynemou/wahcade/devel it says last modified on the first of march,
that is too early so it is not compatible, right?

Greetings

Its fine, WahCade is not Version dependent of Mame. I'm just alarmed by the lack of activity

Are you sure? Wahcade has the create xml-button in the mamesettings and this is affected according to http://mamedev.org/?p=406

It would probably require Sariuk to look at the file and create a new Parser then - just use the XML Output of an old version until then.

Do you mena the lack of activity in this forum or the lack of developers?

Lack of development. I wish we had sariuk and balki back. I would like to see r152 considered a "Release" because 0.99 is obsolete. But I want development to continue. This is one of those situations where I had wonderful success with WahCade and nobody else did.)

+1 to that.
I am using the development version for a long time now.
I don't need too many bells and whistles, just for it to keep stable and up to date with the latest linux and mame.

r156 has issues with joypads.

If I had time I would love to contribute… but at the moment I have nearly no time to use it. I hope my bug report (for example the thread beneath this one) also helps others to fix this issue which perhaps wouldn't be found without the report.

Did anybody get a chance to look at the new mame xml and integrate it into wahcade?

I never did, and for that I apologize - after I get better, I'll give it a try. But I mainly use the RetroArch Mame module. When I get well, I'll look into that.

Okay, explain your issues you are having. Explain every step.

I don't have any issue I thought the algorithm to parse the xml-file should be changed because the mamedevs said so. Does that mean it still works without changes?

I thought if somebody should know it is the mamedevs and believed that news without checking it.

To the best of my knowledge. It does.

WahCade works off the output of -lx, Mahcade has a fallback for the main problem we've seen in the past with XML parsing (addition of new joy types). I've just tested a new 164 -lx output with my current Mah!Cade test install and it went fine, the fallback outputs

Code: Select all
WARNING: doublejoy5 (half8)way is not in our known controllers types, please report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/wahcade).
WARNING: triplejoy8way is not in our known controllers types, please report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/wahcade).

Codebase has been updated to include these controls
