AttributeError: MameWahIni instance has no attribute 'ini_di

Hello -

Fresh install Ubuntu 8.04 and wahcade v0.99pre3 "Down Under."
Did basic setup and configuration using sdlmame. Generated lists, etc. Get this error when launching Wahcade. Any ideas? I've got time to tweak / try things out.

I am having the same problem on my fresh ubuntu install. SDLMAME works fine on its own but I get the same error when I launch wahcade. Any help would be great. I have checked some of the posts here but nothing seems to help. I was able to launch wahcade with xmame but not the emulator.

Ah - found a bug.
As a workaround edit your ~/.wahcade/ini/sdlmame.ini file (or ../xmame.ini) and change the last line in the file from:
current_list 1
to:
current_list 0

You should be fine after that. Let me know if not.

Hey Andy -

Ahh, that would make sense. I ended up playing around with it and discovered that once I generated an extra game list, the problem went away.

Thanks!

I was able to get wahcade! working last night with xmame by deleting all the old config files in the .wahcade directory and reinstalling.

I just reinstalled sdlmame and applied the fix you suggest and I am now able to load up the program. Can't seem to get it to launch games though. It just pops up a little black window on the screen for a few seconds and goes back to my game list.

any suggestions?

Sounds like sdlmame isn't starting properly. There should be a log file in ~/.wahcade/emulator.log.
Or try running sdlmame from a terminal "sdlmame <romname>" - if that doesn't work you need to configure sdlmame (maybe in /etc/sdlmame/mame.ini or similar).

Cheers,

Thats the problem sdlmame runs fine outside of the frontend. It just seems to fail for some reason when I launch from wah!cade. For the time being I will just stick to xmame.

Are there any real advantages to sdlmame aside from it being supported? They both seem to work equally well for me.

what are your Execution Settings for the emulator? post them up could be the way your calling it.

what about the emulator.log post that up when it fails will have some error log data.
