Spudgunman:

I had no problem with adding this in with the layout editor. I don't know when I would see this dialog box so I cannot test it yet. I will add it in for all my theme sets in the retro look.

i think its the box that pops up when your loading a game or switching to a large list of games, were you able to affect the contents?

Ahh I see. I don't get that window. My machine appears to be to fast and that little window is less than a blink for me. I need to see if I can get it to come up. I know I have it finished in the Layout editor.

Tell me how you are getting along with it.

Thanks,

could be, I have a 2.6p4 with IDE, and full romsets for every emulator. so I see it a lot from switching from emulator to emulator, going to SNES from mame for example with 8k+ roms in SNES will lag the disk on scan for files.

I will see the "message" then

I will also see it sometimes on a mame rom load, it will be there for about .5 seconds but its black with nothing in it. i cant seem to make it show anything even if i put a graphic on the thing in layout editor

There's definitely a problem with showing the message window just before a game launches. I tried to fix it just before the last release and almost ended up screaming at the PC  - I just couldn't convince it to display anything... I'll have another attempt at solving this before the next release though.

Cheers,
Andy

to spin a little off OP topic. what about just random application exits? ever since I messed around with my layout the application will chop off graphics for screen shots randomly and the application will just exit. Im going to assume its something ubuntu updated as its been rather busy latley auto-applying patches (on a fully patched ubuntu 8.04) anywhoo just fishing if this is my problem or others.

This reminds me. There really should be a warning about the reset seetp option in setup. It will flush your configuration completely without warning.
