Use this section to list games that have a good rating for Wine/Windows games. (Silver rating or better by the AppDB)

Here's a few freeware titles you can try:

Beats of Rage 1, 2 player side-scrolling fighter (DOS version also available)

I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game - Sadistic platformer

I'm O.K. - Violent platform shooter

Nemesis - Updated remake of Gradius/Nemesis

Dracula's Shadow & Castlevania Quest - http://horrorquest.altervista.org/download.html - Castlevania clones

As far as I recall they're all playable/navigable using the keyboard or a USB gamepad.

Honestly, I am not near my Linux PC right now (and won't be for a few days), and I don't even run Wine anyway. I use my Windows PC for Windows games. The ones I listed above are very simple in design, easy to acquire, and ought to run just fine as frogs under Wine even on medium-grade hardware. If you want to try them, be my guest.

Zombie, get off your high horse. I simply offered a list of cabinet-friendly Windows games "you can try" under Wine. That's all I'm willing to commit to this thread anymore, and frankly more than you have done thus far. Instead of wasting your time chastising me over my polite contribution, you could audit the titles yourself, or maybe come up with a few entries on your own.

I'll add that when you suggested a few titles for the DOSBox thread, I didn't respond to you in such a manner. That would be "unacceptable." I took it upon myself to carefully review and test a few of the titles, add some, and disregard others.

Moving on.

Sorry for scolding you, I've been rather terse with Wine thus far, a Kernel deadlock is causing issues with Wine Post 1.1.30, making many applications that would run, not work at all. My distro still after all this time has not patched this issue.

The DOSBox titles work. I do extensive testing with Wine. I will conduct an "Audit" of Wine/Windows applications after this issue is patched and create a Wine Compatibility matrix for WahCade. I have

Again, sorry for the comment, I was in a bad mood over Wine breaking things.

Apology accepted. I understand the frustration. Wine tries to merge together two worlds that were never meant to be merged-- users in both camps agree. I take your point about the compatibility concerns, and will keep this in mind before making other suggestions.

Came across this list of games "well suited to play on a home arcade cabinet" on the BYOACWiki site:

Many of them seem highly cab-friendly, although there are no notes as to how Wine-friendly they are.
