I'm betting the 11.04 vs 10.04 on my config is something other than the distro, more of a coincidence

Try out commit 54, I have limited testing available to me here at work but the startup error disappears. Both 'controllers' on the USB adapter i am using are initialized according to the wahcade.log file

Are there reasons I should examine this commit?

Commit 54 may fix the joystick issues highlighted by martinc.

I'll wait then, I'm just a little frustrated. I'm getting support for platforms that are not on my list of targets and missing ones that are.

I will try with that commit as soon as I fix some issues on my Debian machine. In the meanwhile, I will install Ubuntu 10.04 on my VBox to test it also.

I will let you know how that commit is working asap, thanks a lot for your quick support ;)

Hello.

I have just updated my cab's os to Lubuntu 11.04, so far Mahcade works.
I don't have the latest version yet.

I am testing Ubuntu 10.04, with lastest commit and mahcade seems to be working fine (well, MAME roms are not working, but that is just a detail I could fix myself :)) but I see the following error when I run wahcade-setup:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "wahcade-setup.py", line 61, in <module>
app = WinSetup(SETUP_GLADE_FILE, 'winSetup', options, args)
File "/usr/local/share/wahcade/wc_setup.py", line 312, in __init__
self.joystick.use_all_controls()
File "/usr/local/share/wahcade/joystick.py", line 95, in use_all_controls
num_buttons = self.devices[dev_num].get_numbuttons()
NameError: global name 'dev_num' is not defined

I just comment that and all works fine, but I think you can take a look, just in case I am not the only one seeing that error.

Ta,
I shall have a look at it. Should be relatively easy to fix, there is a bunch of stuff I need to revise still in the joystick.py.

Commit 55 should get wahcade-setup running for you.

After a few days playing and testig... The new Wah!Cade/Mah!Cade works great.

I only have one doubt. Now, it is possible to configure Category/Version file for each emulator. That's great, but... where can I get emulators catver files? Do I have to create them for myself?

Yes at the moment, i had written something to create them from goodtxts for testing but cannot find it atm. I think I found that the catver format was too limited when it came to consoles systems, but left the feature in incase someone else saw something there I didnt.

I tried the latest bzr of Wahcade, it crashes at random intervals with this error.

/usr/bin/wahcade: line 4: 6977 Aborted python wahcade.py $*
Not very helpful.
