Mapping two Joystick buttons to one keys

Postby martin » Tue Nov 22, 2011 2:40 pm

I am looking for a linux programm to mapp more than one button to a key.
Like a shift function which allows any input to be assigned to a shifted secondary
keycode.

for example:

Wahcade

Button 7 + Button 1 = 1 (wahcade start Game, e.g. a mame, snes, nes, genesis
game etc.)
Button 7 + Button 2 = 2 (wahcade Options)
Button 7 + Button 3 = 4 (wahcade previous Emulator)
Button 7 + button 4 = 6 (wahcade next Emulator)
Button 7 + Button 9 = q (wahcade exit )

Mame:

Button 1 = CTRL-L (Mame Button1)
Button 2 = SPACE (Mame Button2)
Button 3 = ALT-L (Mame Button3)
Button 4 = ... (Mame Button etc.)
Button 5 = 5 (Mame coin 1)
Button 6 = 6 (Mame coin 2)
Button 7 = ... (Mame Player 1 start)
Button 8 = ... (Mame Player 2 start)
Button 7 + Button 8 = ESC (Mame exit, back to wahcade)

So far i tested: jkeyd kbstick, qjoypad, joymap

cheers

don't think WahCade supports multiple Keypress combos like Mame does. Perhaps sariuk can add it.

And what was your experience like with these utilities? What didn't they do that you'd like them to?

Check this out: Assign Custom Shortcut Keys on Ubuntu Linux. It's a little dated, but should still be relevant.

Add a blueprint over on launchpad to request the feature; not sure how to implement that at the moment. I don't recall mamewah supporting this feature; i remember i did this through the the ipac programming app on windows way back when.

There are some utilities mentioned on http://wahki.mameau.com/index.php?title=Wah!Cade:Tools which you may not have tried yet in the meantime.
mameau - My random bits | Wah!Ki - A Wah!Cade wiki | Mah!Cade - Experimental Wah!cade Branch | ListGen | Lazarus
