Can wahcade start rotated?

Postby xmrkite » Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:48 am

Hello, I run xubuntu 11.10 and mame was giving me issues when I had my resolution set to 768x1024 vertical, so I changed mame's setting to just rotate 90 degrees when it starts. Can I get wahcade to do the same? I am using a vertical monitor and need wahcade to rotate 90 degrees when it srarts.

-Thanks

One way to do it is to script it.

something like this (quick and dirty):

Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
xrandr -o left
wahcade

put that in a file and chmod 755 <filename_you_have_chosen>
./ <filename_you_have_chosen>

This rotates your screen counter-clockwise first, starts wahcade next

Obviously, this assumes wahcade is in your $PATH (it should by default) and xrandr works (I remember some problems with noveau drivers with my nvidia awhile ago)

When I do that, I get errors when mame launches.

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 129 (XFree86-VidModeExtension)
Minor opcode of failed request: 10 (XF86VidModeSwitchToMode)
Value in failed request: 0x13c
Serial number of failed request: 135
Current serial number in output stream: 137

Mame works just fine when I don't do the rotate.
